Training for principals

Principal training is generally viewed as an important contributor to school and system improvement. The development of school principals are matters of great importance for all school systems because  effective educational leadership is vital to bringing about improvements in those activities that foster the provision  of education and student learning.In this connection,Aawaj international has conducted two days training program for principals in Gaidahawa,Rupandehi . Collaborating with Gaidahawa Rural Municipality training was conducted to enhance the capacity of principals belonging over there . Along with the stakeholders from the district thirty plus principles from government,community and private schools were there as the participants. Shashi Sharma Majgainya,chairman of Aawaj International facilitate the program .

Television Program
Entrepreneurship is important as it has the ability to improve standards of living and create wealth, not only for the entrepreneurs, but also for related businesses. Entrepreneurs also help drive change with innovation, where new and improved products enable new markets to be developed. In this connection, a television program named Udhyamshil Sambad  has been broadcast-ed from Himalaya Television . In Association with Green Foundation Nepal Aawaj International produced the program  aiming to develop youth entrepreneurship and self employment  in Nepal.

Feasibility Study of Bio Gas and Solar Energy

Banglachuli Rural Municipality is rich in water resources with varieties of Streams but whole rural municipality is dependent on the electricity provided by Nepal Electricity Authority. With the mission to make renewable energy mainstream resource through increased access, knowledge and adaptability contributing for the improved living conditions of the people in this district, the unit is in the energy planning process. At this, a primary Banglachuli Rural Municipality Energy Situation Report has been prepared which would be the backbone for the planning and implementation of the rural energy technologies. This profile presents the existing scenario of the municipality in the energy sector along with other basics and situation of the line agencies.

Climate Change Adaptation Program

Climate change is advancing more rapidly in Nepal and in many other parts of the world as well affecting both people and natural systems.Nepal is more vulnerable than many countries to climate change because of factors such as high poverty and low adaptive capacity. This time associating with Shantinagar Rural Municipality Aawaj International has conducted an interaction program regarding climate change adaption and mitigation in local level in Dang district . Stakeholders and the people from Shantinagar Rural Municipality were actively participated in the program. Aawaj International will enable better understanding of climate change impacts and adaptation priorities for people, ecosystems and species; develop processes for community led adaptation that are rooted in local institutions; identify equitable, inclusive and cost effective actions for integrated adaptation approaches; and explore how best to link with bottom up and top down adaptation efforts in line with Nepal’s National Adaptation Plan for Action (NAPA) and Local Adaptation Plan for Action (LAPA).

Youth Entrepreneurship Development Plan 

Entrepreneurs are frequently thought of as national assets to be cultivated, motivated, and remunerated to the greatest possible extent. Great entrepreneurs have the ability to change the way we live and work. Entrepreneurship is thus important for a number of reasons, from promoting social change to driving innovation. In In the meantime aiming to develop the youth entrepreneurship and self employment Aawaj International played the vital role to formulate the master plan in Bhume Rural Municipality,Rukum District. This master plan will help to promote innovation and entrepreneurship by encouraging the youths with ideas and vision to produce goods within the country and promote trade as well

Conference on Bio Diversity Conservation and SDGs

In celebration of World Environment Day, partnering with National Federation of Youth NGOs,USAID,WWF  Nepal and provincial government Aawaj International  hosted a conference on Biodiversity Conservation and the Sustainable Development Goals in Province 4. The conference allowed for discussions surrounding the preservation of local resources and climate change. The conference invited youth, ministers, politics leaders and youth led organizations. The 85 individuals who participated in the event were able to present their ideas on SDGs and biodiversity in Nepal.Mr.Shashi Sharma Majgaiya,Chairman of Aawaj international played the role of master of ceremony .

Feasibility Study of Solar Energy

 Mallarani Rural Municipality situated in Pyuthan district  Province no. 5 has an area of 80.09 sq km and geographically bound on east by Argakhachi district, west by Mandavi Rural Municipality and Pyuthan Municipality, north by Jhimruk Municipality and  Pyuthan Municipality  south by Airavati Rural Municipality .The Majority of this Municipality Land lies in the High Mountain Range, Siwalik Range and Basin so the potentiality of Solar Energy is high. This study will assist Mallarani Rural Municipality for the planning, coordination, promotion, networking and monitoring of the rural energy activities. 

Street Drama Against Women Violence 

In order to reduce violence against women  Aawaj International had organized a street drama in Shantinagar Rural Municipality, Dang. More than three hundreds people were there to watch the drama in Shantinagar,Dang.
Violence against women happens anywhere, there is no safe place, not even at home. Woman are targeted at home as well as in their workplace, in schools and universities, on the street, in displacement and migration, and increasingly online through cyber violence and hate speech. So the program proved itself very meaningful to support and protect the victims by creating a safe environment for them to report the crimes committed against them.

Conference on Youth and SDGs

 Aawaj international in association with National federation of Youth NGOs Nepal,CECI UNITTERA,Save the Children and Provincial Government  has organized the Provincial conference on 23rd Nov 2018 on Youth and SDGs in Province 2 ,Janakpur. In the chair of  Shashi Sharma Majgainya conference was conducted. It was successfully accomplished in the marvelous presence of chief guest hon’ble Gyanendra Kumar Yadav (Minister of Internal Affairs and Law), special guest hon’ble Abhiram Sharma (State minister of social development), provincial assembly members, political party members, experts, panelists, volunteers and 141 participants(including  LGBTI community members) where the distinguished guests has focused the inclusive participation of every youth in policy making national building process  .In order to bring outcome of the conference, a 17 members SDG Youth Network from 8 districts  has formed and a Janakpur Declaration bill was issued.

Program Against Substance Abuse 

 Substance Abuse Prevention, also known as drug abuse prevention, is a process that attempts to prevent the onset of substance use or limit the development of problems associated with using psychoactive’s substances. Prevention efforts may focus on the individual or their surroundings.  In this connection,to raise awareness about the negative impacts of drug addiction and to reduce criminal activities involving drug users Aawaj International had organized an interaction program with local people,youths and stakeholders in Shantinagar Rural Municipality, Dang.

Conference on Youth and SDGs

 To facilitate discussions surrounding youth and SDG implementation, Aawaj International with NFYN hosted the Provincial Conference on Youth and SDGs in Province  7. The conference focused on three themes; the roles and challenges of The Youth Ministry in the promotion of youth, entrepreneurship development and youth employment counselling and local governance strengthening and public-sector accountability. The conference provided youth the opportunity to network and learn from various ministers, leaders and experts. From 9 districts in Province 7 hundred plus  youth participated in the conference. The Province 7 Conference on Youth and SDGs was accomplished  in collaboration with the Government of Nepal, the Far West Development Commission, Save the Children, the Centre for International Studies and Cooperation (CECI), and Dish Home Media Network.
